I was just a student before becoming an IT professional. Nothing interesting... perhaps the only interesting thing: few months ago I was trying to learn to drive a scooter but I got too nervous and can't control it and fell down a lot of times! Now I'm scary of driving a scooter.

Hmm.

Always intrigued by challenges and can't resist the bait here.

Although many folks do know some of my quirky interests, passions, "outside of work activities" because I am pretty public about them and have plenty of online social places to post pictures, anecdotes, musings, here's one I don't think I shared before.

I was a serial visitor to embalmed head's of state.

1) Lenin (1983 Moscow)

2) Ho Chi Min (2006 Hanoi)

3) Mao (2001 Beijing) - but my family made me leave the line so I never did get to see the Chairman

Somehow the title Jekyll and Hyde gave me that context.

Qualify for weird?

Actually its a fascinating sociological thing to see people lined up for hours to see a (wax?) effigy/corpse.

Please don't analyse this too much.

And thanks for creating spirit of fun here.

I used to love sneaking into theaters while I was a directing student, but started to realize that such behavior constituted a lack of integrity.

It seems from a hobby perspective, gadgets have always been my hobby. However a few things I have done recently or in the past:

1 ) I like to collect/eat hot sauces. I have several bottles in my house just in case. My favorite types are Mad Dog 357 and also Dave's Insanity(I think they run "hotter" with SAP, from what I heard). Last week I participated in a wing eating contest at local wing cook-off/fundraiser.

2) Way in the past, I used to design flip-card stunts in college at Mizzou homefootball games. You know where the crowd holds up a square of either black or gold and the squares form a pattern/desgin.

3) I play fantasy baseball. Yeah it's somewhat IT related as we use the web/clouds to power all our stats and run our league.

4) I also collect merchandise for my favorite cartoon character Marvin the Martian. I have a small collection of coffee mugs(around 40 different types) that are in the hear of my merchandise collection. Unfortunately I probably have most of what is available for sale on e-bay for that character :).

I dont' even try to explain to non-IT folks what my I do in my day job. I just say I work with computers and leave it at that. It's hard enough to explain to the folks in the SAP space that I do everything except basis and security when it comes to SAP CRM.

Although lately I'm feeling like a basis person while working on a SAP GUI upgrade.

Take care,

Stephen

When people ask me what I do I always tell them that I am a farmer. Primarily rabbits, chickens and horses.

When they (the people and sometimes the horses as well) notice my wife's reaction to this they try to change the topic and ask about hobbies.... then I tell them about SAP security (and also add a little bit about the series of tubes in the internet).

When my wife notices their reaction, I let them do the talking again and start back-seat-driving

Just joking. I am not that bad in real life, despite David Halitsky being able to relate to this 1:1.

Seriously: My personal all time favourite is to mow the lawn and gardening in general. Nothing beats it for peace of mind to think, be creative and be left alone to get on with it. I have my best ideas while mowing the lawn.

Cheers,

Julius

I used to be a car mechanic in my life before I turned into the IT business. I realized that it was not my passion having dirty fingers all the time. Hobbies are playing soccer, jogging and riding my motor bike.

What I am looking for is one of those robot lawn mowers which can also fetch beers and keep an eye on the kids. Was R2D2 not developed further for real stories?

Jokes aside, I can recommend mowing the lawn.

Cheers,

Julius

6. This is my hobby (not as in waving around drum sticks like John Rambo, but playing the drums in general).

Lukas,

Wow! Very cool... that is quiet some drum work!

Here is my youtube you can google:

Google search under "Video" and NOT "WEB".

Type in "las vegas model krista"

You will see a model on a red corvette.

Enjoy!

Well... I had always worked as an IT so nothing exciting to tell...

I do have one hobby, I love fishkeeping and have kept from guppies to stingrays and had a marine fishtank for a while. I find it relaxing and when properly done its an awesome feature in a house.

Regards

Juan

- I travel every opportunity I get.

- I blog about every destination I've been to.

- I've recently taken to photography thanks to my travelling. I recently bought a Nikon D90. Still learning the ropes on that one.

- I'm currently contacting a Child Welfare NGO and see how I can help them.

- I was planning to take up Archery as a past-time sport, but dropped when I realised it was an expensive sport. Maybe later.

- Im even planning to take some pottery lessons in the near future.

Here is mine:

1. I would like to photograph models on a part time basis, but I have never had the opertunity

2. I like to race my car around the town leaving black marks on the road at every stop light.

3. XBOX 360 Black Ops online

Used to be in construction until my back went out, then I was forced to use my mind instead of my back to earn money,

kinda funny, turns out I am actualy pretty good at using my mind, who would have guessed it?
