Hi,
if you send someone a DM using messages.sap.com then that person will receive a notification (as expected) but
See same occurance of the link on screenshot (1 vs. 2). 1st is a DM, 2nd is leading to the universal profile.
If I see a username link I'd except in every case it is a link to the universal profile.
I'd suggest to linkify the "new message".
Cheers,
Ervin

Please note that I moved all of the feedback here to the SCN Beta Feedback List. Thanks again for the input!

I updated the SCN Beta Feedback List, but I wanted to respond to you both directly in this thread. We are going to implement the features that you requested here. We won't, however, have them available at launch. They are on the road map for future delivery. I can't provide exact dates, but as always, I'll share information as I receive it.

The art of email sending also seems nonexistent? The current SCN sends me DM emails which are very obvious and don't require hunting for a little yellow circle next to my avatar in the header, which only appears when I've logged in manually by clicking the ghost avatar.

Yes, that is a start. If you DM me in the current SCN I will get an email trigger with link to the thread. If my browser isn't open or I don't go to the proper page in the site (new or old) I would effectively have no idea that someone DM'd me.
I think I added a discussion about emails in general with the new SCN beta. I currently use emails for many things, specific pages that I 'watch' or when I want immediate updates, I prefer an email. For less critical things the Track in Communications is sufficient for me. But ultimately I can tune things however I prefer to work or regulate the level of communications I receive. SAP Jam also has similar tuning, but more based upon frequency of email and not related to a DOC, Blog, DM, etc.
Thanks for the feedback. I've recently taken over this topic, so please let me investigate a bit further and I'll respond as soon as I can.
