Community Day Evening Event - Any Suggestions?

Hi Community,

Last year we followed the suggestion of Dan McWeeney in Amsterdam to go to Boom Chicago for our SDN Day evening event. Thanks Dan, lots of people came to me afterwards and said it was an amazing event. My colleague Keith Ellioth who was for many many years responsible for organizing SAP TechEd in the US said:"It was the best event he has been to in a very very long time.

Of course we would like to repeat that success and are looking for suggestions for things we could do in the evening with 300 people in Las Vegas, Munich or Bangalore.

Munich: Hacking at Hacker-Pschorr (an old old brewery in the middle of Munich) would be funny, just from the sound of the words. Not sure whether people would be up for it after having had BOF sessions all day long already.

Please post your suggestions for all three locations to this thread. If it is getting too complicated we can move the posts to different threads.

Looking forward to an excellent evening, where I will be very exhausted I am sure, Mark.

Mark,

I think the problem with Las Vegas is that there are so many places go or things to do. Have you started to come up with any places that can accomodate up to 300 people? Are you looking for restaurants, night clubs?

House of Blues is located right there at Mandalay Bay. There are also a bunch of different clubs at MGM Grand that seem to be able to handle corporate events.

Just some ideas.

Best Regards,

Chris H.

Hi Everyone,

I guess we will go to the next hot dog stand and get a curry sausage and a beer

If you prefer to do something else on the evening of our long and session packed Community Days, you may want to let us know.

Las Vegas, Munich, Bangalore all suggestions welcomed, Mark.

In that case, those of us who are paying to attend should get a refund

Mark, How about short list a few places and take a vote?

Cheers,

Ramki Maley.

I suppose it is that short list of a few places he wants input to. Since I am Norwegian and don't know my way around any of the three places I will give my suggestions here for all the locals to laugh at

Bangalore: Dewar's Bar or Tiger Bay

Las Vegas: Höfbrauaus Las Vegas or Roy's

Munich: Höfbrauhaus am Platz (where else!) or any place where you can get a good portion of Schweinshaxn (no need for more food during TechEd) or Knödel.

Tip to anyone who doesn't really like beer: try a Weißbier (wheat beer) if you attend in München (Munich), in particular the Hefeweizen type. Opinions will of course differ, but in my opinion Weißbier is the only beer that goes well with food.

My vote goes to Roy's for Vegas this time. I think it was at Höfbrauaus last year.
