Hi,

I found a new bug when creating a comment to a reply in a discussion. If you press the "Comment" link you see that 10 characters are available which is more or less nothing. But the surprise comes when you enter more than 10 characters because then the display switched to "9990 characters left".

So the question for me is why does the initial information isn't like "10000 characters left". Was it a design idea to keep comments short? 😉

I think, one person if replying he is not supposed to complete before entering at least 10 characters. I think, you presented the matter in a wrong way as I can not see anything picture like that in this above Query like I posted in below. You were saying as 1st 10 character Max & then 10000 Character Max showing which I tried in your this same to comment.

Actually, the concept here is at least 10 characters & max is 10000( 9990 + the initial 10). This is not any sort of bug. It was done to ensure that like if you have used facebook or like that social networking sites, then, we would find that somebody just commented or replied as "Hi.." that it, and nothing else & all every other people are also replying & liking that content. We can understand that no such comment or knowledge sharing regarding SAP can be totally completed withing at least 10 characters & hence Min 10 & Max 10000 characters in that area allocated for you. the 10000 character is given as Max show that the content the User is posting looks more eye-catchy and not a huge comment where it would start & you need to scroll 3-4 pages to see the bottom of the content. If required then, user can also make a separate reply too which you are totally aware of.

Do, let us know if you observe the same or if you observe the matter when you press the Comment Button to my Answer here.

Thanks,

Kaushik

It's not a bug. There is 10 character minimum for the comments to prevent meaningless comments, such as "Good blog". Although minimum should've been 25 IMHO, 10 is like nothing, as you've noted.

Ok I understand. However I think that this is more confusing than necessary.
