Hello Experts,
I have a question, I am an amateur and need your expert advice regarding installation of SAP R3 on my laptop. My question is that If I install SAP on my laptop would I be able to practice it anywhere even without the Internet? I am new in SAP FICO and willing to give all my time to learn it. I have 12 points in my account(not a lot I know, but that's all I have), I'll give all these points to someone who can take this time out and explain me how do I do this.
I have Windows 7
Ram 4 GB
HDD 320 GB
Apart from the points, I would really appreciate your help on this.
Peace,
Nick

Hi,
You can install ECC6 IF you own a SAP license. Otherwise this would be illegal.
Even an IDES system needs a valid license.
As far as I am aware only test systems are freely downloadable and free to install but I don't think that these systems include FI-CO.
By the way, Windows 7 is not a supported OS for ECC6 and 4 GB is a very small memory size. If you can install you will get a very slow system.
For ECC6 we currently buy windows 2008 servers with 48 cpu cores and 96 GB memory...
ECC6 is NOT a laptop software even if it is possible to (sort of ) running it.

Olivier

It would probably still be cheaper to purchase a 3G card or get a dial-up account for internet access than purchase the hardware that would support that.
Technically you should be able to access ECC via 56K dialup connection provided you don't run any huge ALV grid reports, so if you are in the US, hard to imagine you being some place without a 3G aircard.
There are a few legitmate providers of SAP IDES sandbox access that are affordable in the United States that would work better. Personally I wouldn't want have to lug around alienware "laptop" just to run ECC.
Take care,
Stephen
Well don't worry you don't have to sacrifice your pionts
Hope you are aware that you can download trail versions of various SAP Netweaver releases here [Downloads|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/nw-downloads].
Am not really sure how helpful they could be for practicing FICO, as these trail version may not contain most of the standard SAP transactions.
Another option is to install a IDES, which is definitely possible for the configuration you have in your laptop. You may have to look around in your area where you can get it installed . (Should be easy if you are in India).
