I was surprised with lot's (7) of notifications today. When I looked, they all where of "New Question Tagged with[Tag I follow]" - Type.
- I never got them before
- I don't want them.
The text says how to turn them off (see screenshot), but when I looked, the already WHERE turned off (again: see screenshot)
Hope you can find out / tell me what happend, and prevent it happening again.
Thanks!
Joachim

Hey, Community Members, I've got good news - you can adjust your Inbox preferences as before in your Communications settings. Below is a bit more context on what happened and what to expect in the future for Notifications and Subscriptions topics.
The scope of platforms and content covered by our central notification service is growing and our aim is to cover all key transactional notifications for your relationship with SAP.
We also plan to treat the primary SAP web platforms as a single experience so that your session will continue as you move between them, ensuring immediate access to notifications from the harmonized header. As part of this overarching strategic direction, if you choose to enable notification for a subscription it will also be delivered to your online SAP inbox though you can choose if you wish to also be notified via email.
Finally, as part of this longer-term experience harmonization work, we want you to be able to subscribe to content or topics across SAP to bring you more relevant content across a variety of platforms, building off the personalized content model long available in Community.
Unfortunately, we rolled out part of this change prematurely, without notice and with a major flow: the inability to subscribe to content without enabling notification. We will be rolling back this change ASAP and keep you informed before reimplementing the updated (enhanced to allow content subscription without notification) feature.

Hi joachim.rees3,
We have currently raised this concern with our IT team and we are going to provide additional input when we received further update on the functionality as it made available.
All the Best,
Alex

I seem to remember that there were separate settings for email notification and inbox notifications, whereas now I have to turn all "new questions-related" notifications off to avoid clogging the Inbox 😕
Hi tomas.buryanek,
As of now, we have not been provided with next guiding step to address the behavior which is why no update as yet. However, the teams are working and an update will be made as soon as the next step is provided to us.
Kind Regards,
Alex
Please stop the notifications for the tags I am following! It's a crazy bug and no chahges!

Just pointing again out how frustrating this is:
Instead of making a switch, that is right there[1], doing what it says it does (turned of: do NOT send notifications to my inbox), you make me un-follow the tags (= topics I am interested) , that I have collected over time (sometimes in troublesome ways - I don't know how was around when "SAPcommunity" started? ( -> SDN(?) transformed into SapCommunity )).
Sad! 😞

re: "sometimes in troublesome ways - I don't know how was around when "SAPcommunity" started" :
Hey joachim.rees3 ,
I'm really sorry to hear about this inconvenience. Since recently, Inbox is mandatory channel for notifications because in the near future it will be a stand alone App with powerful filters that are going to allow you hide this notifications from your eyes. The current version of Inbox doesn't allow that, but you still have it for you "Email". Which means you won't be "spammed" there.
There's however something you can do already now:
Option 1: Go to you Profile, open Content & Following section and remove all the needless Tags and Posts that generate these notifications. They are sent because you're subscribed to those. Unsubscribing will stop receiving notifications for them.
Option 2: Find the Tag or Post in Community portal and unsubscribe there. The effect should be the same.
The root cause of this problem is in subscriptions you have and the channels configuration was somewhat abused to filter out smth that is not of interest any longer. We'll get those filters back in more explicit form in the new Notification Center experience.
I hope that unsubscribing will help alleviating the pain while we're working on a better tool.

Well, ok, so I'll unfollow this tag now: https://answers.sap.com/tags/833755570260738661924709785639136
(posting the link here, as later - when the bug is fixed - I want to find it and follow it again.
joachim.rees3 We are now told the classical that "this is not a bug, but a feature" 😉
I have 9 tags followed - I am using followed tags to look on my Activity Stream!
But I DON'T WANT TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATIONS ABOUT NEW QUESTIONS IN THE FOLLOWED TAGS!
It makes notifications useless!
Stop IT!
Basically, right now this is more like a DDoS 😄
I'll stop deleting (and reading!) notifications until this is resolved.
joachim.rees3 in regards to your last comment to Artem:
You can also use the Bookmarks section in your profile, and keep all your tags bookmarked there:bookmarks
