Blogs: edited blog is published immediately, no save option available

Hi,

when writing a blog I can save it as often as I like. After finishing the blog, I'll send it to be reviewed before publishing.

If the blog is published once, the only option I have is a direct update on the blog, making the changes visible immediately to all the members. I have no chance to save a temporary state (it does an autosave, but this is out of my control), nor is there an option to have the blog being reviewed again.

Therefore:

- please add "save" option when editing an already published blog

- discuss if it is useful to not review blogs that have been published already after editing

Best regards,

Timo

Hi Timo,

Can you please describe the use case? This will require adding another status and I want to understand how frequently this would happen as once the blog is published it should be finalized. You can always set it to draft or work on the text locally before uploading it.

Moshe

Hi Moshe,

I can't say how often it will occur. Probably old SCN can provide info on how often a blog post was edited by the author after initial publication.

If you regard the blog posts as finalized after publishing, then the question is: why am I able to easily edit them in this state? The idea of reviewing a blog post is to guarantee a certain quality of the posts. With being able to edit the post after publishing, it is possible to bypass this kind of "control".

Regards,

Timo

Hello Moshe,

quick question here because I'm obviously blind: where do I find the option to save it as draft? I just saw that there is an auto-save to draft, but can I trigger that myself?

Regards,

Steffi.

Save is putting it into draft ,

The button Publish will make it public visible

People who have not yet the authorization to directly post blogs have a "Submit for review" button instead of the "Publish" button

Yes, but I'm talking about editing blogs that are already published.

Hi Chanchal Jha,

It would be great if you could create your own question if you are facing any issue, instead of putting Answer in others question as your question is not the solution to the others question

Thanks,

Kaushik
