I created my BIF a week ago but it remains in status "Waiting for moderator approval".  Is it normal or might be my mistake ?

Do my BIF apply for a "BIF Badge" ?  When should be appearing ?

Yes, once you list yourself in the BIF list you are supposed to get them by the beginning of the following month.
