Hi

The following is the basic difference:

The Business Evaluation Objects in BI are known as InfoObjects. They are primarily divided into Key Figures and Characteristics. The Characteristics are further divided into time Characteristics, Technical Characteristics and Units.

Key Figures provide the values to be evaluated (e.g. No. of Employees/Quantity/ Amount etc),

Characteristics are business reference objects that are used to analyse key figures

Time Characteristics form the time reference frame (e.g. Calendar Year/ Calendar Month)

Technical Characteristics (e.g. request number)

Units enable key figures value to be paired with their corresponding units in evaluations (e.g. Currency:$ EUR etc)

On the other hand InfoCubes are the primary objects used to support BI Queries. They are designed to store summarized and aggregated data for long period of time. Also known as Architected Data Marts. It consists of a central Fact table (Key figures) surrounded by several dimension tables (Characteristics).

Thanks

and yet you assigned full po1nts to an answer with:

> Also known as Architected Data Marts. It consists of a central Fact table (Key figures) surrounded by several dimension tables (Characteristics).

So I wonder what your definition of "simple terms" is.
