Request clarification before answering.
I've only heard about it.
I can say the same about Harry Potter still as well.
Cheers,
Julius

I have not seen Avatar. And probably will never too. The simple reason being the exhorbitantly priced tickets. As a principle, I dont believe in spending a fortune in watching a movie that may or may not be good. Dont get me wrong, Im not a movie-hater. Im an avid movie-watcher and enjoy watching good movies. But I just dont like the idea of "multiplex culture" which has caught the fancy of Indians. Whatever happened to good ol' theatres of the past? They just seem to be dissappearing.

Last I check it was Rs. 800.
What I fail to understand is why the Multiplexes cant adopt a standar price. Nowadays the ticket prices depends on:
- whether its a multi-starrer movie
- whether its a mega-starrer movie
- day of the week
- time of the week
- language
- whether its tax-exempted etc etc
Why cant they adopt a standard pricing like AMC does in North America?

I found it SO dull, I didn't even go and see it. But I will go and see Sherlock.

No you are not! I found it really boring too! I mean, I enjoyed the effects and oohed and aaahed at all the right scenes, but frankly, I would have rather stayed at home and watched Bullit or something.
And for those you will be putting the question up, yes, I saw it in 3D and everything.
Saw Sherlock Holmes the other day and found it a 100 times better than Avatar, though being a die hard fan of the books for such a long time, I found the idea of a hyperactive-snide-remark-spitting-funny-man Holmes a bit difficult to take in. I'm not saying its bad, I'm just saying its hard to get used to at first to the idea of this new iteration of the screen Holmes.

The visuals make it a piece of art, I never saw anything like it so far.
The story is in fact quit boring, at halftime we knew every exact detail to come in the second part. I wonder wether David Lynch will do a movie in 3D
So combine the technology with a thrilling story and there you go.

All I can say is - Avatar did not fascinate me. Nor did its 3D-ness or story or the hyped "budget"
But James Cameron's imagination and out of the world creativity did keep me awake.
That's why I say never expect too much from movies. Afterall, they are 'movies' !!
Cheers!
