Active contributors against spam attacks

Spam attacks are still massively ongoing. In 2015, SAP community had to "temporarily stop all new accounts from being created", I hope that it won't happen again, and that the next Community version will get rid of this spam.

Just to say, before this feature is available, if possible, please grant the active contributors the right to deactivate these spam users, at least during the weekend, because a lot of spam remains present for 2 days and pollutes the place, I'm often present the weekend, and other active contributors are maybe present too.

I've just noticed the influx of spammers myself. I do agree with your proposal. Active contributors will remove them faster than moderators only.

However, spammers are like cockroaches once you let them in, they are very hard to root out. I would suggest to implement a rule that first, say 5 posts of any newly registered user have to be manually approved by a moderator or active contributor. Five posts are enough to verify a new user's intentions. Spammers will not post five decent posts just to post their garbage afterwards.

Thanks for bringing the proposal... I have also seen more then 30 notifications and all were spam...
