of course you are right. we are aware of that and it really doesn't look so smart, we simply didn't get to fix that so far.

I understand the low priority of the issue but really, how difficult is it to fix? IF <nothing to show? THEN <hide button>. Yet in the past the choice was made to concentrate on such pressing matters as "Question view count fix to also count anonymous visitors" (source). How long would it take to fix an obvious UI error that everyone sees every day and does not reflect well on the company that actually sells the UI solutions?
