About multiple posting

I understand the problem is due to ignorant users, users who do not understand written English or whatever user error but what I do not understand is why do the moderators let through the multiple posts now that moderation is in place? Just Today I have reported tens of multiple posts just in the ABAP Development space where moderation has been in place since the SPAM started. Is it because different moderators are approving the posts? Can't the moderators check the space/subspace before approving?

I understand your valid points. There are multiple reasons for this duplication and they certainly aren't because of ignorance of our users. In fact some of our team experienced duplication of their own posts and that most certainly wasn't intentional duplication of content, nor inability to understand directions.

Reasons for your seeing these errors and for the moderators releasing duplicates (beyond a glitch creating the duplications when people are posting) might be:

1) Duplications in the moderation queue do not necessarily appear side by side in the queue and in the past days when moderators were trying to release dozens of entries in order to support the normal functioning of active areas they might not have noticed they were releasing duplicates. (moderator error)

2)We have allocated additional moderation of different spaces to our internal SCN team but it is possible that two people from the pool of moderators are indeed working on the same content simultaneously and not seeing that duplications exist when releasing (system response and refresh are slow in the moderator queue)

3) Please do understand that this is not a normal set of events and turning full moderation on for certain spaces was a response to spam and an effort to preserve quality.

We are all working hard behind the seens to ensure normal functioning of the forums and spaces.

Dear Marylin,

thank you very much for your explanations. I don't know exactly if my matter belongs to the one above, but I'm wondering if the multiple notifications I get have also to do with the release by the moderators??

I'll be notified by Email when ever something is posted in the places I'm following. Last night I was notified 58 times about the same thread - that makes me wonder.

If it belongs to another issue I can start a new discussion - no problem.

Marilyn,

how do you explain this? Moderation has been place from the start in that space. No human moderator could have let that one through. Seems to me you have implemented some kind of automatic & programmatic solution to moderation which clearly does not work very well. Better than nothing but far from perfect.

Matthias, has this issue of so many multiple notification happened again or was it a one time only?

If it does happen again could you please forward the example to and provide her with the necessary information for follow up?
