I'm curious to see if there are others who are in my situation and want to know how they are coping with it,
I have been on 7.0 dataflow from 2005 as part of a ramp up customer and have been on it since then. Now I moved to a new project and this customer still uses 3.x dataflow. I feel so lost and I feel as if I'm trying to relearn the old stuff again - and I feel I downgraded myself. 3,x dataflow looks so prehistoric with export datasources and infosources. I cant believe what I got myself into - it took me more than 15minutes to figure out the dataflow for a cube.
I'm looking forward to hear others experiences
back to 3.x days folks.

I recently got trained on BI and my trainer insists on first getting it right with the 3.X flow before progressing to the 7.X flow. He also tells me that the 7.X flow is still not completely "stabilized" and SAP releases frequent corrections in that area.
So now I would like to know if there's any iota of truth in it.

ps: My trainer, I gather is well-versed with the BI system and has been a recent Top Contributor here in that area.

I did my training on BI 7.0. Then I got on a project for 3.5. Oh so painful.
But I got the hang of it. At least my first work on 7.0 included some 3.5 stuff, so it wasn't all new.

I got the same feeling when I got to work with 3.x flows .. I was not at all comfortable and always calm down myself and switch back my mind to 3.x and look for update rules/Trules and export ds blah blah ..huh!!
Luckily those days were gone and now I am back to 7.x
