ZClass & Z characteristics import through property tree

Hello experts,

I want to import Z_class and Z_characteristics from DEV to Quality, but here we do not want to use ALE. There is a standard functionality to import Z class and Z characteristics through import of dummy property tree using CG35. The doubt lies here, this file structure also contains entry for TCG11 as well, does it means that the value assignment type assigned to the property tree is also being imported? If it is so, does it really matters when I will import the Transport request into quality that got generated when creating the same value assignment type in IMG (DEV). Does it overwrites earlier entry in the either of the sequence of import.

Why do you want to Import the property tree ad later on the Transport with the VAT? The property tree will contain everything needed for the VAT with the exception of e.g. Phrase sets and Phrase set assignments. So importing the tree is all you need to do.

Hello Ashish Pradhan,

First you need to import customization Transport Request (TR), then import Z Property Tree (Dummy), It will work.

Dummy Property tree will remain in the system forever.

Thanks for the reply, but actually my requirement is different to some extent. The steps defined by you are the one we normally do, but here I want to import Zclass & Characteristics into target system through the use of property tree (Z or dummy property tree created only for the Zclass & Z charc in subject). I know that this can be done through ALE or uploaded through LSMW also directly into target system but for some reasons we want to try through import export of property tree. My question is, when I import dummy property tree in target system, I see that TCG11 table entry is also being imported with it. I am not sure if this VAT (TCG11 table) entry will create any issue later when I will import the original customizing Transport Request (TR) for the same VAT.

Hello Ashish Pradhan

You need to do this in Step by Step,

1. You need to import all the Z classes and Characteristics via transport (Manually) for this you need to know the structure.

2.Z Phrase Set if you want to assign to characteristics.

3.Then you need to do the Match up - if you want to use system created report symbols or else you can create and assign manually.

4.After all the above steps you can import the property tree for proper alignment.
