xMII Login

Hi,

When I access this link to login to xMII, it takes me to a blank page :

http://<servername>/Lighthammer/Login.jsp

However when I login in using

http://<servername>/Lighthammer/Menu.jsp

then it seems to work fine.

Am I missing any settings? Appreciate any help.

Also, I have created new roles & users. When I login in using the newusername & password, it takes me to the default admin page. However when I click on the link "Home" it then takes me to the proper navigation & page mapped for the role/user. Any ideas?

Srinivasan,

When you use http://<servername>/Lighthammer/Login.jsp it will login to xMII but the system will not be able to know where to redirect after you login.

In case of http://<servername>/Lighthammer/Menu.jsp system will be redirecting you to login and then after successful login it will again take you back to Menu.jsp. This is usual behavior.

Use this link http://<servername>/Lighthammer and login using newusername and it will directly take you to home page.

Thanks,

Srinivas.

Thanks Srinivas.

The problem is when I use http://<server name>/Lighthammer/Login.jsp and login as user "admin" (belonging to role: Administrators) and put the password, it ALWAYS shows a "Blank" page with the page URL changed to:

http://<servername>/Lighthammer/Illuminator?service=Personalization

The default homepage(Menu.jsp page) is not displayed???

Am I missing some setting somewhere? We use Windows 2003 server and IE version 6.

I verified the Navigation link(Content display tabs) for the role Administrators and it clearly points to /Lighthammer/Menu.jsp

Hi Srinivasan,

You should use http://<server name>/Lighthammer/Menu.jsp to login to xMII for development/configuration work. If you want to login as an end-user then you should use http://<server name>/Lighthammer for login. But before that you need to assign the pages to the user or user role from the Portal Services->Navigation.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks Dipankar.

I understand that.

But even when I login(as user say "admin" belonging to the Role - "Administrators") using Menu.jsp and then click on the link "Home" on the navigation, it displays a "Blank" page. Shouldn't it display the xMII Menu page instead (As already mentioned, I have verified that "Menu.jsp" is assigned for the role "Administrators" in Portal services -> Navigation)

I have xMII installed on Windows 2003 server and use IE ver. 6? Any special settings required for Windows 2003?

Is that URL in Portal -> navigation and content specified as /Lighthammer/Menu.jsp?
