WWI - Symbols are not replaced with values

Hello Experts,

I´m trying to generate an MSDS with WWI.

I save the template, create the generation variant... and when I generate the report, most of the symbols come up empty (even if the value assignment is maintained in the specification). Header data, such as identifiers, are OK (symbols are replaced with no problem).

I checked conflicts with status / usage, but nothing seems wrong.

Any ideas of what I can check or what I am missing??

Hi,

This could be one of the many reasons, did you make sure whether the active indicator for the respective value assignments in the usage tab is checked?

- I already tried re-installling WWI, but nothing.

- Active indicator in the Usage for the VATs is flagged, so that should not be the issue.

I also checked the FM to replace phrases and symbols: C129X_SYMBOL_VALUE_FETCH.

Any additional ideas / hints?

hi Irene,

I hope you must have checked the validity area of Generation variant and specification. It shoud match.

Secondly,

Also check for Status check and Usage check indicators for your Generation variant. See the documentation for the same. Probably this may help you.

Validity areas and ratings was one of the first things I checked, and they match, so it should not be a problem.

The checks in the GV are not flagged, so that should not interfere, right?

What about user exits is customizing? The ones starting with GEN_*... could it affect?

hi Irene,

The status check should not be flagged and Usage check should ahve value 0 (subset)

This means the usage is appropriate if - with the same rating used - the generation variant validity area that is expanded to its countries and regions is the same as or is a subset of the expanded validity area of the usage with which it is to be compared.

Example:

Generation variant: DE

Value assignment usage: REG_EU

If a safety data sheet is created for Germany, value assignment instances are also taken into account that are valid for the validity area REG_EU.

Not aware of User exits in customizing.

Hi Niraj,

I already checked that, rating and validity of the specification match the ones in the generation variant.

I checked again, and found that it is only the properties managed with phrases, the ones that are missing. Header data and numeric or text free characteristics are no problem.

Sysbols are created, I ran CGCZ.

Is there some customizing or FM needed to convert symbols to phrases?

Hi Irene,

I was going through the IMG activity: Assign Characteristic-Specific Identification.

It says that:

With this IMG activity you can control the display of identifiers in a report specifically for characteristics. The identification listing is determined dynamically during report generation in accordance with your definition.

On the report template, you must create a repeating group for the value assignment type for the identifier symbol and enter it as subexpansion type T.

Go through the documentation of this IMG activity, it might help you.

Hi Niraj,

We opened an OSS note for this issue. Finally it was an error with the symbol definition of the phrase symbols.

We made a copy from the symbols in client 000, and the error was solved.

Hi Irene,

Not very sure.. but you can try installing WWI set up file again. There could be some probelm with WWI installation.
