Hi

We are using a local PC(User PC) to generate templates

Is WWI already included in the GUI?

If its already included in the GUI is it required to setup the RFC?

Do I need to activate the dispatcher and activate the WWI server

Regards

Raghav

Dear Raghav

the WWI cookbook is explaining anything. As well potential conflicts with use of SAP GUI (/as well as installation process of WWI, how to update WWI et. etc. et.)

In most cases we can differentiate two scenarios: Local WWI; WWI generation server farm

The local WWI is needed for: e.g.  e.) Create report from template; b.) editing/creating etc. of new WWI templates.c:)useofCG54/CG50

It need to be properly installed on your client. To my knowlegde: for local installaiton no special RFC connection needed. This is only needed in context of WWI generation server (there is a small "but": if you have activated some functionality in EnhPack 3 the local WWi is only needed for WWI development; the need for "Create report from  template" and others needs are "moved" then to some WWI server

Any WWI development does not make sense without having a WWI generation server up and running Therefore anwer to your question: Do I need to activate the dispatcher and activate the WWI server

is "yes". Check the many documents here. E.g.

and may others

PS: I don't chatch your statement: We are using a local PC(User PC) to generate templates; if so you have a local WWI installation together with SAP GUi

What is the meaning of "generate templates" in this context? Use of Cg42?
