I have all my WWI reports runnign great, except for 1 area. I cannot retrieve Status or any other information from the fields under the Status tab of the specification. Other tabs such as Material Assignments work OK. This is my only problem, otherwise most of my 20 odd reports are completed and working great. Please help.

Thanks,

Anil

Hi Anil,

First of all can you please let me know, what are these WWI reports are these MSDS reports? If these are MSDS reports, how and where do you want to pull the specification header data? As per my knowledge what is the need of the data in Tabs like Status on to the reports?

To pull any data on to the reports, the corresponding symbols must be generated in the system and then these must be inserted in the report layout.

thanks

Hi Ravindra, thanks for your response. I am printing specifications. My report type is of type MSDS, but I do not have to tie my reports to the logistics system. I am running my reports using the the EH&S reporting system, mainly transactions CG50 and CG54.

I am actually ready to go live and like I indicated, I would like the status of my specification to be reflected on the printed specifications. Whats cofusing is that the correct symbols are there in CG42 top left section. All symbols except the ones related to the status tab come across perfectly. Any thoughts? Is it possible that these specific symbols need to be validated?

Any thoughts as to what my next step could be?

Thanks,

Anil

Hello,

Use the following symbol

<01GEAS_STATU[D:STASUS]>

If not present create it from structure EHSBS_APPL_SCOPE_IOT with a field name STATUSD

And make sure your specification status is maintained for you to check the symbol.

Thanks

Jayakumar

I have been chasing other issues and now am back to this one. Thanks Jaykumar and Pavan for your suggestions - Jayakumar, the symbols you suggested is in the symbols list in CG42. None of the symbols related to the status tab come across!

Pavan, I have checked and validated everything you suggested and did some extensive reading in this area - still doe not work!

Any further thoghts/ideas most welcome.

Thanks,

Anil

Hello Anil,

This may happen because of the following two reasons:

1. In the generation variant (or during report preview from specf. workbench), you would have checked the "status check" checkbox, which controls whether the specification and phrase status is to be checked in report generation.

2. Otherwise, please go to the following spro path:

Basic data & tools>Specification mgmt.>specification master>status mgmt.>specify statuses.

Check for the status for which you wish to convert data in report, whether "GenNotPerm" is checked. As per SAP, this is suggested to be un-checked for released status only, which is self-explanatory.

For more dependencies, please refer accompanying documentation of this particular settings.

Regards,

Pavan
