Work order PR cost to be charged to Planning plant instead of Maintenance plant

Hi Experts,

In functional location master, for few we have the planning plant P100 and maintenance plant as M100.

Now the business scenario is… planning plant P100 raises the PR for material and service for Maintenance plant M100. All goods and service must be physically to be delivered to M100 but while doing settlement the cost must be charged to planning plant P100.

While creating the work order with this Func. Location, the system is creating the Purch. Requisition against M100 only. Also, while pressing the settlement rule, it’s showing the Cost centers from Plant M100 only.

This PR need to be created against planning plant P100 and settlement rule also must show the CC of plant P100.

Any suggestions how to meet this. Any enhancement or exit to be used or can be achieved via Standard process?

Thanks.

Just to clarify

  • are most of your functional locations installed in plant M100 and have planning plant M100, and there's only a handful which have maintenance plant M100 and planning plant P100?
  • Also, please clarify if you're talking about a mix of stock and non-stock materials, or just non-stock.
  • Do you have any default settlements on the FLOC?
  • Do both plants belong to the same CoCo?

Before doing customization, you've got to check if you can achieve the behavior you need in standard. Answering those questions would help !

Thanks Oscar,

Here are my reply-

1. Most of Flocs have same Planning and maintenance plant. (M100 as both) and only few have this centralize maintenance structure (i.e. both plants different).

2. Here only non stock material is taken in consideration e.g. only PR (No stock item e.g. No Reservation).

3. Currently the Work order settlement rule derives the cost center of Floc.

4. Yes, both plants belong to same comp. code.

Note- Here the requirement is that PR must be created against plant P100 (in place of default M100) and cost must be settled against the cost center of P100.

Thx

I didn't have a situation like that in my environment, but from standard behavior the settlement rule should default from whatever is on the object, and the planning plant for the requisition should be the planning plant for the object.

I recently tried this in my environment and that's exactly what I got.

Here's what I did:

I changed the planning plant for one of my existing FLOCS from 0010 to 0011, I also changed the CC from A to B

Then I created a maintenance order with an external control key so that a requisition would get created, the requisition got created for plant 0011 and CC B.

Did you change the planning plants and the accounting information for all the lower level FLOCS and equipment records? I think all you have to do is change the FLOC and that should be it !

Hello Dennis,

I would start by asking your developer to look at this user exit: IWO10027 User Exit: Generate User-Defined Settlement Rule

On the surface, as long as the final settlement costs are to the correct area, does the requisition part matter?
