Word 2010 issue with CG42

Hi All,

We just upgraded to MS Word 2010 and in MS Word 2010 the "Word Button" that contained the print, save, e-mail, and options menus in MS Word 2007 is replaced by a tab called File. This new tab is not showing up in transaction CG42. Has anyone else encountered this and how did you fix it or work around it?

Thanks,

Jason

Hi Jason,

1) Please check ther version of MS Office 2010 whether it is 32 bit or 64 bit

2) if it is 32 bit then in order to support MS Office 2010 - 32 Bit, your WWI server should of this version - EH&S WWI 3.2/2.7B Support Package 23.

3) if it is 64 Bit, EH&S WWI is NOT released for MS Office 2010 (64 bit).

Generally MS Office 2010 are of 64 bit so surely EHS WWI will NOT support it.

4) Microsoft Word 2010 is supported on the front end only with SAP GUI 7.20.

5) New functions that are supported only in the new Microsoft Word 2007/2010 document format DOCX cannot be used with WWI because Microsoft does not transfer them to RTF format.

6) the Microsoft Word options and other commands that are available in Microsoft Office Backstage or Microsoft Office pushbuttons are not available for Microsoft Word that is embedded in SAPGUI. This is the case for transaction CG42 "Edit Report Template". As described in the note, add the missing commands, for example, the application options of the toolbar for fast access - please refer note Note 1408098

7) See Note 907221 for more information when you upgrade Word.

In reading Note 907221 - Thanks to Amol!! - I found Note 1431414 - EH&S WWI: Release for MS Office Word 2010. This basically states that the user should open MS Word outside of SAP and add any missing commands from the File tab to the quick access bar. I've done this with the Word Options and I can now access the options from within CG42. Thanks Amol for your direction. I appreciate it.

Thanks,

Jason
