Dear Dheeraj

in current situation no easy answer is possible.

We can assume that SAP ERP will be followed by S/4 HANA. Currently SAP is working hard on S/4 version and "simplify" the data model to profit from investment done in HANA (more or less performance topics and new user interagfce (SAP Fiori for S/4 Hana).

There are roughly 5 OSS notes available which discuss the EHS/EHSM "roadmap" in context of S/4 Hana. We can expect that SAP will invest a lot of money here.

So the question need to be (may be addressed) slightly different

E.G. If you hae a SAP ERP system up and running (ECC 6. last EnhPack); to my knowledge you can "migrate" to S/4 HANA but depending on modules you have used. Some old EHS solution is not supported any more in S/4 HANA (and you must use EHSM).

So on long term. any EHS consultant need to get in "touch" with S/4 HANA and it can be expected that some companies still use S/4 HANA in context of EHS/EHSM, Some other companies are planning to use this new SAP solution now or in near future. So a lot of projects will/might come up to deal with.

C.B.

Dheeraj,

SAP HANA is the in-memory database platform which is being pushed for higher adoption by SAP. As the situation stands today, all EHS classic modules can continue to run on any database which customer might be using today or for that matter in near-future also. However, with SAP now migrating to all new application platform suite of S4HANA, it would be imperative for all customers to move to S4HANA in coming times, sooner or later.

SAP has recently included transition of classic EHS modules also on S4HANA platform and details would be there in the new version to be released. It would be definitely advantageous for a SAP application consultant to have worked on S4HANA implementations/transitions on any modules. Make no mistakes, S4HANA would be the de-facto application platform from SAP in the near-future, and all consultant need to embrace it, sooner or later.

Pavan
