What is the use of Application log level in EH&S OCC TOOL?

I was trying to load Specification , when I click on import Specification it pop up dialog , in this dialogue, there is one box to enter Application log level , where I can entry some numeric value. What is purpose of this application log Level?

to "log" something is a general idea used by SAP (it is used in DG, SVT, report shipment etc. environment).

As we do not use OCC: The "numeric" values will describe "how many actions"(how "deep" the logging should be) should be "logged".

The log can be an important option to check "what is going wrong" (during load of data)
