What is the encoding of the API Repository in SAP ECTR?

Hi all,

When creating the API-Repository in SAP ECTR, what encoding will be used for the *.JSON files?

Do we have to create the API-Repository separately for each language?

I'm asking this beacuse we have some problems with those files on a computer with a foreign (English) environment, while all other computers in the company (German environment) work without problems.

Hello Thomas,

we were able to reproduce and fix encoding problems when the sap logon language doesn't "fit" to windows platform language settings.

The fix is planned for the next ECTR releases - 5.2.2.0 / 5.1.15.2

Hello Thomas,

although the logon language shouldn't matter, can you please try to generate the api repository on the english client using english logon language and then use this json file everywhere - as workaround?

You definitely shouldn't need to do it.

Can you please describe "some problems" so we can analyze it?

Hi Waldemar,

Thanks for the answers, we will try that.

>Can you please describe "some problems" so we can analyze it?<

The error message was "Unknown exception occured while executing API /DSCSAG/CHECK_LOGON_DATA. Message: ',' expected, but 'a' read near position 30870."

Logon to SAP GUI has always worked, so the password is ok (we also tried Copy&Paste to make sure it was not a typing mistake).

Since we deleted the *json file on this computer, everything works fine (but it's slower then).

And the *.json file itself is ok as it works on all other computers.
