Hello Everyone,

Due to various reasons, we create a WBS (PS Project) per location even though all of them belong to a same project management project.

What’s the best practice to populate the Costing information from each WBS on the project management project?.

Hi Mohan,

Please have a look if "Mirror Task" can help you in this scenario.

You can replicate this mirror task into multiple cprojects and can have a WBS replicated into PS side for the same.

Please read more on this if it can help you.

Thanks.

Hello Ken,

Thank you for your quick reply. Investment management is not something we can work with any time soon. Basically, we maintain several PS Projects (WBS per location) and they all belong to a same Project Management Project. Based on my understanding, we can't manually assign multiple PS Projects to one Project Management Project. It is one to one relation.

1) How could we consolidate the budget information from different Work breakdown Structures onto the PPM Project?. Custom report?.

2) Is it possible to construct just one PS Project (WBS) and have different PS Projects (per location) pointing to it so that the master PS project can be manually assigned to the PPM Project to display the budget information?

I appreciate any input you may have for me.

So you create a separate Project Definition per location (with WBS) and you want to report on several Project Definitions that are "grouped" as a project management project, is that correct?

SAP offers Investment Management if you want to apply a budget to the whole project management project. The project management project would be an investment node.

If you just to consolidate them for reporting you can use Customer Fields in the Project Definition to run reports for all projects with the same value in the customer field.
