Want to add custom fields in portfolio items in Custom Controller Tab

Hi Experts,

I want to add some custom fields in PPM portfolio items->Custom controller tab. I have added in /RPM/ITEM_D table but couldn't able to add it in Custom controller tab.

Please help.

Hello Sameer,

There is no item tab called "custom controller" in the SAP standard so I am not sure to which tab you are referring.

• Are you referring to tab "Custom Component"? this is an example of a custom tab which is delivered by SAP as a template for customer to bind their own WebDynpro components. You can refer to SAP Note Nr. 1399319 for a description of the necessary steps for handling data in such a custom WebDynpro for an item.
• In case you instead want to add custom fields to a standard tab, you should use the customizing "Define Custom Field Configuration" and "Assign Fields to Views/Subviews" under customizing node SAP Portfolio and Project Management > Portfolio Management > Global Customizing > Global Field Settings.

Thanks Francesco for your reply. I added the custom fields in the Overview Tab->additional information section.

Now I want to put some validation in the custom fields and want to set value in one custom field on the Save button.

Can you please help me how we can do that?
