.vds file is not loading properly in SAP 3D VE Author

Hello Experts,

I am trying to load .vds extension type 3D file in SAP VE Author of version 8.

when I am loading ,3D file it is not coming as original view(as shown in below image) but .rh extension 3D file is loading properly and able to locate parts.

Any configuration setting we have to do to view as original image.

SAP VE Author installed on windows 2008, 64 bit machine.

Hi Rajee,

Yes, in VE Author you can open .rh file and save as .vds.

I will work on hardware part.

Is there any possibility to converting .rh files into .vds files?

Hi Rajee,

Check the Messages (button on the right side of the status bar at the bottom). I think you could be right, this might be hardware or drivers issue.

To fix this, on the Navigation toolbar, click Display | Display Renderer and select DirectX 9.0

Hi VIAdimir,

I tried to check log files at below location

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Temp\Low

But this folder is empty.

please suggest where I have to check the logs of VE Author.

Hi Rajee,

Try update Graphic cards driver, it could be the reason. Also check what is in the error log of VE Author.

Hi Vladimir,

Its happening with all .VDS files ,also it is running properly on machine with OS as windows 7....Only on windows 2008 machine we are facing this issue.

As we installed on 2008 OS , Graphic card is not there. Is it a reason for the issue.?

Process is ok. Does it happen with one specific VDS file only or any VDS you open? Could you email me that file please.

Hi Vladimir,

Its displaying as "DirectX 9.0 "only.

Want to confirm one more point,Author is installed on windows 2008 with Processor Intel(R),Xeon(R).

Does this processor supports .vds files?

But on same machine .rh files are loading properly.
