Using the AIF function for offline reporting of incidents

Hi,

Is anyone using the adobe forms functionality to record incidents offline?

We would like to use this but...

When we initially to use the form, we get an error about the "Wrong version" of adobe....

To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

this can only be overcome if we open the form in Adobe acrobat, which seems odd - how can we expect everyone wishing to make a report has the correct reader?

Also, one of my colleagues tried modifying the form (at a minimum we want replace the SAP logo with our own), but gets a message about XFA file format...

Any tips on getting past these issues?

Hi Alan,

regarding your questions:

  1. Adobe Acrobat Reader for EHS Offline Forms: Unfortunately, this is a technical restriction we face. This is documented in the SAP Notes 834573 - SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe: Acrobat/Reader version and 2215301 - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC support for Interactive Forms by Adobe.
  2. Error message on saving the form layout: Could you provide a more detailed error message, please?

Regarding (1): There are other tools available to create offline capable forms which create a PDF that can be edited in other readers as well. We used such a tool for other forms to report incidents and offline investigations.

With kind regards,

Michael

Hello alananderson,

I hope you have configured the inbound and outbound for mail processing.

Also make sure that the ADS server is up and running.
