Using NFC or similar contactless technology for labor tracking in DM

Dear DM Experts,

Is there a way to make it possible to do labor tracking in DM using NFC or similar technology? By default DM doesn't provide any possibility to do this. 

The requirement is that the worker scans his/her badge card on the shop floor to start the labor tracking automatically. For the scanning, the NFC technology is preferred instead of barcode scanning.

This was possible with SAP MII with custom development, however I do not find a similar solution in DM. 

Could this be possible with a custom POD-Plugin? 

Any ideas are welcome.

Hi,

Sure! I would expect that a NFC reader or a barcode scanner would work just fine as input methods, just like a regular keyboard for entering the badge information. I mean, if the focus is on the badge field, I would expect that a locally connected NFC reader or barcode scanner would just read the data and drop it in the badge field.
