hi,
We are loading the SERC data for List Subs and while loading through OCC, there is a check box named "Use Substance Groups".
What is the use for this check box? I mean what happens to the data when loaded using this check box and what happens to the data when it is loaded without this check box? I checked the SERC Administration manual and it says this check box is optional.
In one of our system, we loaded the data with this check box and we are getting the duplicate data errors for GHS classification VAT when the expert rules are run on the Pure Subs.
Any immediate help on this topic would help us immensely.
Thank you.

Hello
a.) we do not use "OCC" to load (but other similar tool)
b.) but the "substance groups story" is in our load strategy as well important
I try to explain it very simple
You have a CAS Number; this CAS number might contain (fictive example) these elements
"Fe", "Cr". Now it can happen that one regulation is saying: any chemical component containing "Fe" should get "this data" and any chemical cimponente containing "Cr" should get that data
The regulation is only saying "anything which contain either "Fe" or "Cr" is "regulated" (somehow)"
If such an entry exists in the regulation one talls about a" group"; to make it worse:
The CAS number can be listed direct and listed via a "group" entry. You need to decide what to load; and there are very complex cases like that existing (Fe / Cr example)
If you use the "wrong" decision you can get many entries in EHS for one regulation (e.g. OEL, GHS etc.)
Only a chemical / regulation expert can decide
To avoid this "trouble" sometime special load strategies are used. But then the "data model" will be more complex;
