Usage Decision problem

Hi,

I have the following scenario:

Someone of the team made the Usage Decision. This person accepted everything and the material was sent to Unrestricted. After a few weeks, someone realized the material was made with something that is forbidden in the company. How could We send back the usage decision? I mean rejecting instead accepted. I have tried but SAP does not allow me to do that movement. It is really urgent so I will appreciate any help.

No.. this is not a situation you should reverse the process as if nothing happened.

This was an error or deviation and should be recorded as such.

The process is to use QA12 to change the UD to a rejection with a comment as to why.

The next process is to isolate the material by putting it into blocked stock or posting it back to QI.

Then a returns process needs to be started with the vendor to return any unused material and to recover any payments. If this has been sitting for weeks in your warehouse, the invoices could have already been paid on this.

Depending on your quality agreements the vendor may also be liable for all downstream products made from the material that shouldn't have be sent to you as well as any additional costs associated with this.

By undoing this you are pretending the stock never sat in your warehouse for several weeks and that it could have potentially been used by someone. This is a bad quality practice and does nothing to assure the issue is fixed for the future.

Hi,

Option 1 :

Implement the SAP Note 175842 – Inspection Lot: Reversal of goods movements from UD.

Option 2 :

Activate the stock transfer inspection type in material master quality management tab.

Perform the transfer posting from unrestricted to quality inspection using the transaction code MIGO movement type 322.

Inspection lot will be generated QA32.

Assign inspection plan,If it was not assigned automatically QA02.

Perform usage decision again QA12.

In Stock posting - Reject the stock as per the business requirement.

There is a reason it is a note. Read the note. There are several situations it will not work. ( For instance handling units and serial numbers). I also believe it is still not officially supported by SAP. It is provided as a service to clients but the client accepts all responsibility for installing, testing and using it. There is no guarantee that it will work after upgrades or patches. Just keep that in mind.
