Unit of measure is not translated when Report language and logon language are different .

Hi All ,

Issue : Unit of measure is not translated when Report language and logon language are different .

Analysis :

1. We migrated our EHS system to a multiple connected SAP system where MM, SD other modules are maintained .

2. Here we faced a problem in maintaining UoM because our Unit of measure like % , days are used by several modules in other dimensions so we created a Separate custom tables and FMs to maintain UoM separately for EHS .

3. We maintained UoM translation for many languages in T006A table by using SE63 tcode .

4. When Report language and Logon language are same then UoM is displayed correctly .

When Report language and Logon language are different then UoM is getting displayed incorrectly.

5. We maintained UoM by logging in through various languages but still UoM is displayed incorrectly in Reports .unless the logon language matches with the Report language .

Kindly provide your inputs to overcome this issue and provide us the correct method to maintain UoM translation .

Thanks and Regards ,

Suresh .

Hello

please check existing "Blogs" and "threads". Your topic is a "very old one".

E.g. https://blogs.sap.com/2013/12/21/wwi-for-experts/

is one source of information. The UOM story was discussed e.g. here

https://answers.sap.com/questions/12516312/uom-creation-in-ehs.html

https://answers.sap.com/questions/10284631/identify-list-of-uom-currently-used-by-all-ehs-rep.html

https://answers.sap.com/questions/7712664/conversion-of-uom-in-msds.html

https://answers.sap.com/questions/12314364/sap-specification-property-tree-and-uom.html

and yes.,, we know that the "UOM" Story is "painful" and hard (topic of log on language etc. etc. as you have correctly listed)

The topic of "UOM" might be one of the "standard" top most discussed topic (e.g. https://answers.sap.com/questions/452473/cuni-uom-translation.html)

And yes: in correlation to "WWI" story: it is a "hard work" to consider as you need in most cases. roughly 30 translations per "UOM" (because of the many languages in which normaklky you need to prepare a SDS/MSDS or label.

So the good news is: there is a solution. You need only to perform either a "google" search or look for a technical consultant which knows the stuff
