Transport of copies

Hi experts,

I am transporting data models from BW dev to BW quality and I am using TR ,releases task ,TR and import in quality.same way from ECC Dev to ECC QA.now since number of tr are more and for smooth go live,TRansport of copies are suggested by management to follow instead of TR.Can anyone suggest what are challenges one can face in BW if I use transport of copies from BW perspective and ECC perspective..Also which is better approach for new implementation of module like EHSM.

kalai.sriram use of copy method make it easier to manage transports. Is better version of STMS. Hope this help. It adds flexibility to the entire ALM process. Inclusion of SAP Solution Manager makes it easier for large organization to track and govern changes.

STMS is a free form of transport setup, not much control.
Apart from learning (Package creation, project assignment, target queue setup and assignment, attaching support documents etc. ) this process and going through the approval workflow nothing much changes.
All setup related steps are done by BASIS team or SolMan expert.

I have already gone through this article but this is generalised one and does nt specifically explains challenges from BW perspective nor it s disadvantage..I am using STMS for transports and I am trying to find whether toc is suitable for both ecc and BW?any disadvantage of using it in BW

Blog goes over the advantages of using this setup over traditional one. Advantages are same on both side BW as well as ECC. In all context this add some additional process related steps, in turn help with guided migration. So all in all it helps your transportation of objects and help with better tracking. Use of Solman is always advantageous, it helps compliance processes and validation. Allow attachment of test cases and approvals. Let someone from the organization review and approve transport packages (combining multiple TR's)
One of the big challenges for BW as well as for ECC transports are sequencing of objects. This blog goes over that as well.

I would suggest Transport of copies for EHSM , We use the approach for S/4 for BW and EHSM.

I dont have experience with ECC on EHSM.
