Hi All,
I'm intrigued to know how most new EH&S projects start for small (i.e. <500 users - 3000 substances) sites.
How do we populate the phrase library - I believe this is essentailly empty on a new install.
I've seen best practices for chemicals has a set of example phrase librarys - are these suitable to load?
Or do we really have to engage technidata to start?
Kind Regards,
Request clarification before answering.
Do the standard ones contain many phrases or are they completely empty?
For small sites surely engaging another vendor (i.e. technidata) is costly and prohibitive to getting EH&S installed?

Hello
in using one "vendor" or "consulting" company llke TechnIData with their CLEO product you are in a good starting position in using EH&S. What hasn't been explained yet:
There are several CLEO packages to my knowledge
a.) only Phrases
b.) tioether with Templates (e.g. MSDS)
c.) together with Ruleseteps
etc.
But may be I did not catch "exactly" what you are searching for but I would like to give you some "advice" etc.
EH&S does have many "submodules". EH&S PS is the "core" in some sense. Using the phrases you need to populate the "property tree" with data (and becuase of that you need pharses but this is not the "whole" story) so that you get a "full MSDS" which you can distribute to the customer. Further on you get (if properly installed) DG support (e.g. Dangerous goods check). If you take a look in the "Best practisse";: the basic steps are described there to get these "basic" EH&S topics to be done. But at the end: most important is that you have understood the "profit" of EH&S and you have a "suitable datamodel" and the suer can add the data easily (e.g. SAP and TEchniData provide you there with a lot of tools to support you in collecting data).
It is recommended form my side to have a "EH&S" Startegy and you should ook at SAP EHS MANAGEMENT and the content which SAP privdes so you can select what is needed. As with all projects: start simple and increase complexity.
If you start EH&S without a "plan" (what means which business process must be supported; which could be supported; which would be "nice to have" e.g.) you could loose money and time.
With bets regards
C.B.
PS: keep in mind that EH&S is no a "standalone" module. It is stongly integrated with the SAP modules MM, SD, PP,. BP etc. so e.g. GLM topics are supported, REACH topics (SVT) etc.

Hi,
You can buy phrase libraries(CED) from other vendors too like 3E company apart from Technidata CLEO. The advantage of engaging these are that you will have regular updates on your Phrases, Regulatory content, Templates etc.
You need to load phrase libraries provided by these content providers which is the recomended approach or you can create your own libraries from the std ones by creating/merging/combining functinalities.

Ravindra
