Hi all,
I have a problem because I need to get a menu only on display mode but I don't know how to configure it.
I assigned an enhancement to the a Menu exit (via SPRO : Basic Data ans Tools > Specification Management > Menu Exits for Specification Management) but the menu is available to display and edit mode in CG02.
I searched a little bit on Google and I found the following information from SAP :
Use
As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), you can use all four existing menu
exits in specification management both in display mode and in change mode.
Effects on Existing Data
If you set up your own menu exits in earlier releases, these are now available to you in display mode and
change mode. If you want a menu exit to be available in display mode only or change mode only, you
must control this using the parameters in the user exit.
It's exactly my case but I don't know how to use parameters on the right user exit.
For more details :
- SAP Enhancement of the Menu exit : C1020001
- Function Module : EXIT_SAPLC102_003
Thanks a lot for your help.
Regards.
Antoine

Hello Antoine
if you analyze the customizing acitvity (SPRO) a small documentation is available. To my knowlegde no example how to use this exit is provided by SAP in this case.
In this documentation the parameters should be explained.
Until ECC 5.0 ( I believe) only two exits have been available. From that time they are four. By whatever reason:
two are linked to "edit/display" mode (old transaction edit/display: cg02/cg03) and two are related to "specification information" management (old transaction cg04). Up to now I did not have had the time to analyze what is the difference between the two groups of exits.
PLease take a look here:
http://www.se80.co.uk/sapfms/e/exit/exit_saplc102_003.htm
now cg02 is designed "different" and "logging" mechanisms are different as cg02/c03/cg04 are now combined in one transaction.
May be you now: by user parameter the user can desided if the "edit" mode is default or the "display" mode. If nothing haped the display mode is default. As the two exits are linked to the old cg04 transaction the process should be different. PLease refer to SAP Marketplace if necessary. I believe some notes describe these two exists:
EXIT_SAPLC102_003
and
EXIT_SAPLC102_004
I hope this answer is sufficient as a starter for your demand
With best regards
C.B.

Hi Christophe,
Thank you for your answer. Indeed in ECC5 version there is 2 User exits available in edit mode and 2 available in display mode. But now in ECC6, all of them are now available in edit AND display mode.
The documentation say that we can specify whichuser exit should appear in Display or Edit mode. But I didn't find how to set that ...
I will continue to investigate and keep you up to date ...
Regards.

Hello Antoine
I am not really sure if you can "hide" the exits if you are in display or edit mode. I Have read cross the function module interface. In this interface the "Status" is passed on to the function module (that means: display or write mode etc.). As I have explained: the use of these exits is now not so "obvious" like in the past (at that point of time cg02/cg03/cg04 are different transactions; now only cg02 is the standard transaction).
I am not sure if you can prepare a set up in such a way that the exits is "greyed" in display mode and to be used in write mode. I found no effidence to do it like that.
With best regards
C.B.
