Specification has not been assigned to material, when tried to print the label using cbgl_mp01

Hello,

Using the transaction cbgl_mp01, I tried to print the labels for a material under generic tab and got the error " Specification has not been assigned to the material".

The material has label data view and labels are assigned to the packaging unit.

I found that the table ESTMJ is empty for that material but the table CCGLT_MTLS has the values of label types assigned to the material.

This issue is only with a few materials.

when the label data is created, why is the table ESTMJ empty?

Please post your answers.

Thanks,

Sindhu,

Hi sindhu,

You must assign a specification to material either in material master or specification master in cg02 in label data view in material master you have to assign packaging units and either gen varient or label stock and you have to create gen  varient for specification which you should have assign to label data view I'm material master then only you can able print label or preview the label.

Thanks

Hello Sindhu

as Satya explained: it is not "good enoigh" to maintain the LabelView as you did. YOU MUST assign the material to a specification (please check online help; it is well explained there how to do this9
