Solidworks Toolbox with ECTR

Hi Experts,

I want to setup Solidworks toolbox with ECTR. I did go through the details here: https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/Standard+Parts+Management

I have activated toolbox, added a custom property and assigned the DIR number for screw (SWN). When I call that into an assembly file, it shows the custom property in the feature tree. The system then triggers the Import on Demand and the Document number is * (Internally generated).

I have also mapped the property in Attributes to SAP, but it still tries to generate a DIR number instead of pulling in the same SWN.

Can you help how can I set this up?

please open a SAP incident and provide the logfiles. So that we can analyze what can be wrong.

I still do not see this as an issue, but more of a process understanding.

Once I create a DIR number for a screw, I would need to associate it in the Toolbox against the screw. I tried the Custom attribute, but it does not seem to work.

I would like to understand how to set up the relation between the screw and DIR number so that, each time whenever the screw is called, it should read that a DIR number is already available and it should not be generated again.

If anyone can help here, it would be great.

Hi Prashanth,

your expectation regarding the DIR number is correct. When the screw have already a DIR the original from the DIR key should be used. It is not necessary to call Import on Demand again. The ECTR interface recognize that for this document a DIR already exist.

In your case this does not work. So this is an issue. As René wrote, we need a SAP incident for this. In such cases this is the desired channel for the communication.
