Search help for object links does not show any results

We have our PPM 5.0 on a seperate server and i am trying to link the created SAP PS project via object links to the portfolio item.

When i go to object links and search for Project Definition, a search help shows, but does not return any results.

It seems it is looking into the SAP PPM system instead of our ECC system.

Where can i maintain that it searches in the correct system?

Hello Miel,

the object 'project definition' per se deals with PS project definition. The object type is called '0PROJECTDEF'. So the system has to look on your ECC system, nevertheless the seach doesn't work at the moment.

If you want to use cPro projects, you have to maintain the obejct type '0CPROJECTS' in customizing.

Regardless of which object type you are using, you have to maintain the RFC-connection for each object type. If no RFC connection is used for object types, search help will open but gives you no result!

Go to customizing: SAP Portfolio and Project Management >>> Project Management >>> Connection to External Systems >>> Make Seetings for the Linked SAP Objects

Select the object typ '0CPROJECTS' (it has to be active) and choose 'details' (CTRL+SHIFT+F2). Provide fields for 'Destination' and 'Log.System' if needed.

Afterwards the search help should give you some results.

Hi,

I suggest you to follow some basic documentation on object link. Once you have correct config in place it will automatically search object from required system.
