Hi Team,

I am using SAP PCo 15.3 and want to connect SAP MII (15.1) with OSI PI and OSI PI AF server. Our requirement is to connect both the Server and Read/Write the tags? When We are trying to connect through OSI PI agent we can able to browse the PI server , but when we use the "Asset Framework" agent it is not able to look for the AF server (but in the drop down I can see other ones PI DA servers).

I have followed the blog

PCo to OSISoft PI AF Server Connection | SAP Community and installed below.

PI SDK version 1.4.4

PI ProcessBook

PI System Explorer

Also in the PI Explorer in the same server I can see the AF server appearing but not in PCO.

Can we know what is the prerequisite we are missing here for AF server to appear on PCo? Please let us know?

Also is that possible to write tags in the AF server?

Regards

Hi Partheeban,

Its been a long time since I used PCo with Asset framework but if my memory serves me correctly I had a similar issue and it was down to the user account that you set up in the Asset Framework source system and I needed to have the Use Pi Trust box ticked.

Yes you can write data to tags in Asset Framework, there are several ways of doing it but the most common is to use the PCoQuery in MII - please note that by default your PCo data server in MII will be set NOT to allow writing so you have to remember and check the "writable" box .

Thanks

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Thanks.

But Enabling PI Trust or using Credential is for connecting to the AF server right?

But in my case the Drop Down is not showing the AF server itself but it shows the other ones which has PI DA.

You mean the user we use not have authentication to browse the Server?

Yes you are correct those are the credentials for connecting to the server, I looked back at my diary and it looks like my issue was different from yours.

Do you have both the PISDK and PIAFSDK installed on the same machine as PCo ? Both of these are required.

Thanks

Kevin
