SAP PCo 15.2 taking 3 seconds for 100 tags for one enviornment

Hi ,

I have an issue related to Pco 15.2 and MII 15.2 , both have been installed on same server . And for three plants the landscape is same . I am connecting MII 15.2 with Pco 15.2 using UDC connector or either using Pco connector.

If i fetch 100 tags in all three plants , the data response is 140 ms for two plants , but for the third one it ranges from 3 seconds to 60 seconds.

I am struggling as there is no spike on CPU ,memory in any of the system and network is stable as well. On the other hand if i connect MII15.2 to Pco 2.3 using UDC connector it works fine.

Kindly suggest if anyone has seen this issue please suggest a solution.

Thanks,

Chandrika

Hi Chandrika,

I wouldn't use the UDC connection as this is now very old and replaced by the PCo connector.

There could be multiple reasons for this difference which you will need to investigate further for example:

PCo is taking a long time to process the data (unusual but you can change the log level to Verbose in your agent instance and check the times in the log file to verify)

The network bandwidth is restricting the speed the data is transferred from the data source to PCo , this would need investigated by your network infrastructure team

The source system is responding slowly, your network team would have to use a tool such as Wireshark to sniff the network to see what is happening .

MII is slow, the PCo logs and netweaver logs need to be analysed.

What type of source system are you using?

FYI , we typically recommend that PCo and MII are not installed on the same server. PCo should be installed as close to the data source as possible since the data bandwidth from PCo to the source will be much higher than PCo to MII (typically).

Thanks
