SAP MII Upgrade

Hello Experts,

So I am reading up for an upgrade before actually starting with one.

1. Master Guide - 2018 Doc version 15.2

2. Component Upgrade Guide - 2018 Doc Version 15.2

The entire document is mind-blogging from a developer's perspective. Seems like more of an Basis work.

Could someone with prior upgrade (good/bad) experience summarizes the steps to be followed. Insights will be helpful.

(a] I went through other posts, which mentioned about SUM tool ; however I didn't find any operation guide for the same. Any pointers on the same. b] Also, there is list of SAP notes in both the documents - which one is relevant/updated?)
