hi guys,

we have configured underdelivery and overdelivery tolerance in shop order maintenance -> production quantities.

configured data:

Ordered Qty is 50

Build Qty is 50 after realease

under and overdelivery tolerance (%) is 10

if i start 54 to work with in POD the following message appears:

SFC 23112233 does not have enough quantity in queue at the operation 50233007-3-0-0010; you can start only 50.0 (Message 13913)

whats the reason?

according to the current configuration i assume that i can start and complete up to quantity 55.

maybe i forgot an activity hook or additional activity?

or can this function only be used before the order is released?

sap me manuel says nothing more.

thanks for help.

Hi Markus,

My guess is it has to do with the material reservation for the order. If there is only material for 50 pieces reserved, then it limits you there. You may also need to make sure the ERP side of things allows such overages. As there are limits in ME, they also have to correspond to those in ERP.

Overages are much easier to manage if the operation is a continuous process and the materials consumed are not part of the order, but common (and consumable) materials to the processing line. Think of plastic soda bottles which consumes the plastic raw material at the point of blow molding. There is a certain amount of overage built in the quantities of materials issued to the line, or it is simply considered part of the equipment. So the COGS (cost of goods sold) is all the bottles produced considering the labor and equipment costs and consumption of the plastic for the whole line apportioned across each bottle produced in a given period of time. Those materials are not considered as part of the order, but rather consumables to run the production equipment or perhaps a simpler matter of how much gas do you use to go to the grocery store. One doesn't consider the gasoline as part of the cost of the groceries. It is simply required to run the vehicle which retrieves them.

What is Operation ...-0010? Is that some sort of Kitting operation?

Cheers, Mike
