Hi All,
I am trying to edit a MSDS report template using transaction CG42. It connects me alright to the WWI server but I am not authorised to edit the template.
I believe my RFC connections are setup correctly and the Gen servers are also up and running.
1. Is there any kind of authorisations linked to WWI templates.
2. Or there are certain Winword settings that need to be taken care of. All of which is mentioned in the SAP help is matching with my word settings.
Any guidance or advice in this direction will be heartly appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
Hitanshu

I get a different problem, when I go to report from template of CG02 transaction and the page which open in Word through WWI gives Visual Basic error[Runtime error 438].It says the object does not support this type of property or method.
WWI 2.7B version is installed and path is also OK but I don't know why should I get this error ? Can anybody guide me ? Thanks

Hello,
There are different types of WWI-installations, at installation time you choose the type of installation.
For editing templates you need a different type than for viewing documents (or templates), or on the generation server.
Usually only a developer has the template maintenance installation.
To find more about your wwi-installation use wwiinfo.exe, it creates a wwiinfo.txt file with all kinds of details (alas, not the type of installation).
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
John Hermans

Hi Hitanshu,
Please check if the RFC destination WWI_WORD_START exists:
Type TCP/IP, starting Frontend-Workstation program wwiexe32.exe.

Good afternoon,
Check the GUI.
Makes sure theat the WWI plug-in is installed as part of the standard GUI installation.

Hi All,
Similar to note 817858, You cannot open a report in MS Word (on the WWI front end or the generating server). The system issues an error message telling you that the document name or path is invalid.
I get the same sort of error (Message C$561), however here is the catch:
Client A - I can open the template from the DMS system
Client B (Whihc is an exact duplication of config on Client A), I can not open the file in DMS, getting the error described above.
Anyone come across this situation before?
Any replies would be appreciated.
Regards,
Freddie.
