Hello Experts,
Is there any general procedural document to decommission a SAP EHS system.
Currently the scenario is all SAP EHS business process related actions are getting performed in EHS system and data is getting transferred to other system where all the supply chain activities take place.
Now we need perform all EHS activities and logistics activities in the same SAP box so that we can remove the separate EHS box
Please help.

Hello
normally: if any data was transmitted from "old" to "new" system e.g. any job in EHS System can be stopped. Any interface (either "inbound" or "outbound" of what ever kind) should be stopped as well
No legal update would be needed any more (e.g no 3E update)
But for legal reasons: such a "SAP Box" must be available (for a number of experts) for at least ten years.
So it is not a 100% "shut" down. But as in most cases we have a "Dev", "Qual" and "Prod" system, The 10 year period is only needed for the "Prod" part. The other SAP systems can be really decommisioned.

Hi Dheeraj,
Please find the general steps, I don't think there will be a standard document, as this is client specific based on the inbound and outbound idocs,
1. Check the dependent data flow for the system (SAP or non SAP)
2. Identify if there are any and check the level of dependency check how these data flows will be assigned a new system.
3. You need to transfer these Master data to the target system before decommissioning.
4. identify the data and replicate data to the target system.
5. Check any internal or external web access like SDS/PDS/TDS need to decommission/ link to the New target system.
6. You don't have to switchoff business untill unless above steps are completed and both systems have replica of data.
7. Rest of the configuration activities in the target system can be replicated via BC sets or client comparison.
There are other admin activities that follow the above I didn't mention those.
Hope this helps.
Best
