SAP EH&S beginer

Hi ,

I'm an SAP-ABAP developer. I have been working on SAP EH&S module from past 6 months. I'm currently developing some custom applications in EH&S. I'm interested to learn SAP EHS and get certified if possible. Could you guide me on how i should plan and progress?

Any courses or trainings ??

firstly one should get first hand idea of the EH&S business and then try to take hands on in SAP-EH&S.

Hello Niraj,

Your answer was updated in 2009, now you have came across any case studies or implementation guides? (in internet also)

If you have these things, please share those links, its very useful to me becoz currently i am working EH&S module.

a.) please take a look at SAP sides and prepare an inquiry like. "Best Practise for Chemicals"; you will find more documentation; the link to this place is shown in some of the Threads in this FORUM

b.) if you take a look at SAP side you will find: success stories of EH&S implementation projects; whit papers etc. which might help you to get the  "big picture"

c.) if you check the other SCN links you will find "blogs" regarding Reach (EH&S demand), Sustainability topics etc. which potentially will provide you the "big picture" of SAP regarding SAP EHS MANAGEMENT

d.) please take a look to help.sap.com: the recent EH&S help ios abvailable there with lots of information (enhancement package 6)

Be aware of the fact that EHS project have a high demand in the area of "consultancy" (how to prepare set up, how to use) and less of development (more customizing/configuration)

Depending on size of company etc. the interests are different. The thread of Niraj gives you only a very short overview about all EH&S processes.

Since february 2012 a book regarding EHS is available on the market (check internet to search for this book). I am sorry: it is only available in german. This book provides an EHS consultant a good overview about EHS processes

Hi Vishnu,

Learning the EH&S functionalities and business process is a pre-requisite for learning SAP - EHS. Please try to get a clear idea about the nature of sub areas in your current organization. To the best of my knowledge EH&S training being offered by Technidata - SAP in Germany and US curently.
