SAP ECTR number of material

Hello, everyone!

I have just started to study SAP ECTR.

I already know how to create Number of Document, Number of material, create a new version, BOM and change BOM through change number.

When i create Number of material, the system automatically assigns number of material for materials.

How can I assign my own numbers of material?

what do you mean with "When i create Number of material,"?

There is a number generator used when creating a material master. This is called "internal numbering". There is also an "external numbering" which means you can enter your own number (what ever text might be valid).

The customer wants to use SAP ECTR and uses programs (soft) that it does not integration by SAP ECTR. (for example, Clo3D or Grafis)

How can this problem be simplified or solved?

Hello Zakhar,

you can still use a "manual" checkout/download of files, open/edit them in your App (Clo3D or Grafic) and then checkin the file. However, you won't be able to read structures in CAD (but maybe this is anyhow single, independent files) and you can't synchronize attributes automatically.

Can I use SAP ECTR as an intermediate step to upload documents to SAP DMS if the document is not supported by SAP ECTR? For example, in order for me to put a file in sap ectr, I create a folder and run the nessesary application.

Can I put any document in a folder via sap ectr so that it gets into sap dms?

No, you can use ECTR also "standalone" as PLM-application to work on/review any document, material, change object or BOM.

But How It can work on/review any document if ECTR don't work (cannot open) with, for example Clo3D or Grafic?

You can build either your own integration (see HowTo-Guides) or reach out to one of our partners (DSC, CIDEON, .riess or CENIT) to develop it for you.
