SAP DMC Dashboard Designer (+Images with areas and thresholds colors from indicators)

Hello everyone,

I was trying to follow blog post below, to create a Dashboard containing an image (with values/threshold from indicators)

but I have the following problems:

Is it still possible to do the process above in DMC release 2302?

For me it is not possible to find App "Dashboard Designer", as I can only find "Manage Dashboards"? It is not possible to add images to this Dashboard.

Could you please support me on this topic?

Hi Thomas,

on your question regarding the Query Designer view: Before you are able to add widgets to your Story Dashboard you need to select the needed Manufacturing Data Objects (MDOs) on the right side to design your Data Object. In the next step you then can Save this Query and use it on the Story Canvas.

Hi Thomas,

the Manage Dashboards app and the Dashboard Designer are completely different apps. You use the Manage Dashboards app to create visual representations of analytics data. The app uses functionality provided by SAP Analytics Cloud. You can find more Information in the application help: Manage Dashboards

As Kevin said in his reply, your best bet is to try and use the Overlay Authoring Tool. You can find more information on the Overlay Authoring Tool here.

Hi Thomas,

The Dashboard designer was deprecated several versions ago. If you are using a line monitor POD have a look at the "Overlay Authoring Tool" and the "Line Monitor Image Overlay" plugin.

I am using the Line Monitor Overlay plugin but I am interested to add values from indicators to an overview of the shopfloor/resource. But I do not know if this is possible using Line Monitor/Image Overlay?

Can I use the app "Manage Dashboards" to add images? When I open the app "Manage Dashboards" I receive the following view, but it is not possible to select anything and it is directly overwritten with the Querry view.

Maybe I am missing roles in order to add objects to the Dashboard.
