SAP DataSphere Lifecicle Transports

Hello guys,

I'm trying find out a way to transport ROLES from a DataSphere Tennant to another one.

I can use Import/Export for a lot of DSP objects but none of them is Roles.
Even with CLI documentation do not mention anything about roles, specifically.

So, are you guys know about it whether it is possible or not or even if there are any specific documentation?

Appreciate any tips.

Hello @rogerio_santos,

It's a good question. Short answer the roles cannot be transported (export & import) to another tenant. Therefore the roles needs to be created / updated directly/manually in the tenants. It seems to be "It is what it is" situation unfortunately! 😑 Quote from the dictionary "We're all imperfect human beings in an imperfect world. It is what it is." 🙂

You can export and import via the Transport in SAP Datasphere these objects -at leas as of version 2024.5-

• Connections
• Remote Tables
• Local Tables
• Flows
• Views
• Intelligent Lookups
• Analytic Models
• E/R Models
• Data Access Controls
• Task Chains
• Business Entities / Business Entity Versions
• Fact Models
• Consumption Models
• Authorization Scenarios

You can export and import as CSN/JSON files via the Data Builder these objects -at leas as of version 2024.5-

• Local Tables
• Remote Tables
• Views
• Flows
• Intelligent Lookups
• Analytic Models
• E/R Models

Yeah, but we have to go on even as imperfect, let's create roles by manually so!
