S4 PPM - fact sheet printing long text field spaces with characters

We are currently on 1909 and in the midst of an upgrade to 2020. This is occurring in both environments. We have a custom form that includes some long text fields. The text appears fine in the user interface, but when printed to the fact sheet as a PDF every space has a series of characters (&#x) inserted. The Project Objective (short text) appears correct, this is only occurring on the long text fields. Depending on the computer used, the characters appear or don't. It appears to be browser and font related to a specific computer. Is there a way in the form configuration to ensure that the enduser does not see these characters regardless of their computer setup? Does anyone have any specific browser or font settings that will help resolve this?
