RPM to cProjects - Dates

Hi All,

On creation of an item in RPM, I get a corresponding project in cProjects.

I also intend to have the Plan_Start_Date and Plan_Finish_Date (from RPM) to move as the Must Start Date (plan start) and Must Finish On (plan finish) in cProjects.

Can this be achieved through config.? How?

Thanks.

Hello Deepak,

Please check if you have taken the right scenario ID for the creation operation. You must first configure the sceanrio ID for the operation (create, update, delete), then map the fields from Source Object grouping to Target object grouping per scenario ID.

Item field PLANNED_START and PLANNED_FINISH are the fields for Planned start and Finish dates.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Piyush,

As earlier mentioned, the update works fine from RPM to cProjects (Horizontal).

Under "Maintain Field Mappings", I then carry out the Field Mapping for PDCP (both Main Group and Sub Group as PPO).

But the "Planned Start Date" (in RPM) does not show up under MUST_START_ON_DATE. The scenario, I reckon, is Horizontal anyway (Item to Project).

Thanks for your inputs early on. In case something clicks, please share...

Hi Deepak,

Please check if the Scenario ID - 'Horizontal Synchronization' is the one set up for synchronization between Item and Project. In an earlier configuration step, the scenario ID to be used for synchronization between Item(PPO) and Project(PDCP) would have been maintained. If it was maintained as (say) 'Initial Create', then only the field mappings marked as scenario 'Initial Create' will be synchronized.

You should find a mapping that will let you maintain like this - xRPM Item , cProjects Project, Update, Horizontal Synch.

This can be done through DFM config (v4.5 and above). Refer the thread below. It talks about other fields, but same concept can be used for synchronizing dates using the DFM attribute sync functionality.

Hi Lashan, thanks for posting. Yes, I did check that thread earlier.

For me, I am able to synchronize the Area and Location from cProjects to RPM.

However, I have not been able to do it the other way round (from RPM to cProjects) for the Plan Start and Plan Finish dates.

Here's what I have done:

For the Main Group PPO and a Sub-group PPO, I have carried the "Field Mapping" as follows (under Maintain Field Mappings😞

Scenario ID: Horizontal Sync.

Source Field: Plan_Start

Target Main Grouping: PDCP

Target Subgrouping: PDCP

Target field: Must_Start_On_Date

I just fail to understand why I am not getting the result. Yes, I have cleared the cache. There's definitely something I am missing. Looking forward to hear back.

Thanks.

Hi Deepak, could you please confirm if you got the source field correct? I think it should be D_PLANSTART
